Header House & Greenhouse

The Header House is an informal name given to the two-storey building that is attached to the greenhouse on the north side. During the Station's operation, the main floor workshop was used for implement and tool repair, and the second floor for storage. The walls were lined with sheet aluminum. The design for the Greenhouse was supplied by the Lord and Burnham Co. Ltd of St. Catharines, Ontario  in 1950. The north two thirds of the building were heated, and a cistern in the basement captured rain water.

The Greenhouse was used to germinate ornamental bedding plants and seedlings for research. After the Nursery Station Closed the city used the greenhouse to grow tropical plants for city facilities. Now it is used for cold storage.

The Header House is now used as a workshop and the second floor contains Saskatoon Parks offices.
