Stephen Stade 1960-2019
Stephen Stade was born on May 8, 1960 and was raised on the farm near Cabri Saskatchewan.
Stephen spent his life building things. His work in construction showed his ability to enhance the design and quality of his projects: gaining him a reputation for doing things the 'right way', even if it meant taking the long road. He always provided a personal touch and ensured that those he worked with became more than clients, becoming part of his extended family. It was in this capacity that we spent many hours with Stephen as we restored the Superintendent's Residence. He graciously donated his project management hours to this community project. He worked with our regular and 'assorted' other volunteers, our tradespeople (many who he had handpicked) and developed a good rapport with the board of directors.
The house was completed on time with such impeccable results because of his dedication. We were proud to have had him as part of our team and honoured when he stood beside us to receive a City of Saskatoon Heritage Award for adaptive reuse of the Superintendent's Residence in 2002.

Stephen was a long-time resident of Forest Grove and was very active in his community. He was a soccer coach, Scout leader and a very involved dad and grandpa, there was not an event he missed during Justin and Crystal's childhood.
Stephen left us unexpectedly on February 12, 2019. His family was his pride and joy and they will miss him immensely. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Gladys, his children Justin (Sarah) and Crystal (Graham), as well as his grandchildren, Bennett, Lincoln, Harper, Garrett and Aleah.
